Bringing forth a sexy fusion of soulful pop/Latin/R&B, singer/songstress Mia emerges with a voice that could easily put most pop singers to shame. "The first thing I noticed about Mia's voice was her clear, completely unaffected tonality, something very unusual in this day and age," says producer Adam Carmony. "That, along with her warm and very down-to-earth personality, is why she has such a charismatic effect on people, be it live or through recordings."



Mia began singing in her grandfather's church at the age of 8, soon realizing she was destined to pursue music. She worked her way through college doing recordings and singing for groups like "The Pulse," "Medula," "The Jess Perry Band," and the Latin boy-band, "4-Ever." In 2004, she graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music.



After working with Adam on much of his own material, Mia has begun collaborating with him in developing her solo debut and establishing her own sound. "My original material, so far, has a real pop sound to it. It's reminiscent of the music I grew up listening to," she says. "I love pop music, but I also want to get more into the elements of blues and soul." The first two cuts from her project include the Puerto Rican, regatón-flavored "Damelo," and the insightfully uplifting New Age sounds of "I Stand."



While most young, female pop singers today tend to be "puppets" to large companies, Mia co-writes all of her solo material and involves herself completely in the musical process from start to finish. Right now she looks forward to writing and performing more, along with completing the rest of her project.
