DAMASCUS

Formed in the summer of 2005. As the band began getting tighter musically, the songs became longer and more technical, with songs ranging from 2-14 minutes in length. Infusing multiple styles of heavy music which include Death Metal, Hardcore, Grindcore, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive and even Acoustic. Adding their unique melodic twist to these genres Damascus have been hard to label other then just a straight up metal band.
2006: Saw the face of Damascus for the first time. Quickly earning a slot at Manitoba Metalfest as well a personal invite to perform at the Hometown CD release of Into Eternity's "The Scattering of Ashes" (Century Media). By November Damascus had released their own self titled CD to a sold out crowd at Winnipeg's legendary club "The Royal Albert Arms".
2007: With tour booking through Galy Records, Damascus has been fortunate to do a cross Canada summer tour sponsored by Unrestrained Magazine in support of "Damascus" CD with "Blinded by Faith". (Galy Records) As well the release of "Evolution Annex".
2008: March 18th will see the Canada wide release of their self titled debut through Galy Records Distribution and FAB Distribution, also available world wide via FAB Distribution Digital Distro. Damascus once again hit the road. This time with Finnish band Catamenia (Massacre records) to tour eastern canada. Late 2008 will see the continued push from Damascus playing a few more select shows across Canada as well a slot on Galy Records Trois Riviers Metalfest Compilation CD.
2009: January will play host to the unfolding of our first video "Mortal Forfeiture (Season of Decay)" documenting the intensity of our live shows and love for the art of film. Not letting anything falter this dedicated four, Damascus will continue playing, touring and writing. With anticipation we look to join the roster of a respected label for the release of our second full length album, to see our albums develop a wider distribution, and tour.
Over the years we have been very fortunate to have shared the stage with many amazing bands on many amazing labels. Neuraxis, Misery Index, Into Eternity, Electro Quarterstaff, The Ocean, Cattle Decapitation, Martyr, Putrescence, Fuck the Facts, Sacrifice, Unexpect, Catamenia and Augury.
