Dalindèo is a Finnish jazz-sextet founded and led by composer/guitarist Valtteri Pöyhönen. The intention of the group is to keep the original jazz spirit alive with heavy emphasis on danceable rhytms, strong melodies and the craftmanship of top musicians.

After Dalindèo's early mix of brazilica and jazz the group has developped their style into something more personal: this post-modern style is called "Cinematic Jazz". Drawing on the influence of jazz-composers such as Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin and the great Duke Ellington, Valtteri Pöyhönen and his team create high-class orchestral jazz-music for the 21st century. With every tune having a story and ambience of its own, the upcoming album "Soundtrack for the Sound Eye" (released in January 2010) lives up to its name and truly gives your ears and eyes and imagination something to feed on.

As a live act Dalindèo has gained a reputation as a tight and energetic performer. The bands interplay is as tight as ever after gigs in Finland and 12 other European countries in the last two years following the release of debut album "Open Scenes" in 2007. This is also evident on the rough and "live" sound of the new album.

"Soundtrack for the Sound Eye" also features the voice of Bajka, the fantastic poet from Berlin, on two tracks: "Willpower" and "New Creation". The tracks were written in collaboration between V.P. and Bajka with Bajka providing the full-of-meaning lyrics.

Almost immediately after their first gig and demo, Dalindèo was signed to Helsinki-based Ricky-Tick Records and they released two critically acclaimed maxi-singles “Poseidon/Solifer-lento” in 2005 and “Go Ahead, Float/Voodoo” in 2006. Debut album "Open scenes", produced by Tuomas Kallio of the Five Corners Quintet, was released in 2007. Recent releases "Vintage Voyage-EP" and the 7" single "New Creation/Another Devil", both produced by Valtteri Pöyhönen, give a good idea about what his Cinematic Jazz is all about.
