"When people speak of a gifted individual, it is usually one particular talent an individual possesses they refer to. Such a gift is honed and crafted, nurtured and grown. When speaking of Golden Child, one cannot confine him to a particular gift--he has many.
Beginning with his first love, Hip-Hop, Goldenchild is an emcee that produces his music. Goldenchild has been rhyming, and producing tracks for many years. Listening to one of Goldenchild's songs is like watching rhythmic tunes and lyrical expertise make love to sound waves. It is an experience of his mind, a trip through his heart, only to have it grab on to your soul. The Goldenchild possesses the musical gift, the ability to compose, and the finesse to produce as a teacher amongst students.
Writing lyrics to rhymes, poetry, and stories inspired Goldenchild try his hand at song writing and production for others. Over the years he has produced and writing music for artists such as AKIR, "Indie Hip Hop Supergroup" The REAVERS and has appeared on various international compilations and mixtapes. His debut solo album, Rising Rebel, fully showcases his many talents including
self produced tracks, vocal range and rhyming abilities and the introduction his live Hip Hop Soul Reggaelutionary band, The Chosen. This studio album incorporates a fusion of hip hop, soul, roots rock reggae, with elements of live instrumentation combined with an authentic voice filled with groove and melody.
Expanding his horizons, Goldenchild has added modeling to his resume. Joining with hairstylist Oraje, he became the World Natural Hair Model of the Year 2009 at the World Natural Hair Health and Beauty Show in Atlanta,
creating history being the first male model to ever win the title.
To further establish his music and other talents, Goldenchild established Metropoliz Media in 1997 as a media production company. Born on the campus
of Howard University in Washington D.C., Metropoliz started as a promotions company and expanded into music and media production. Expansion has led
Metropoliz into the realm of television and video production as well and currently employs six talented individuals. Metropoliz Media also collaborates
with several other production companies in New York City, as well as across the country.
The man they call The Golden Child, was given his name by a close friend who said, everything he touches is fruitful, whatever it is, always becomes golden. Whether it is beats, rhymes, writing, or stage presence, The Golden Child has it mastered! And like masterful people, he is constantly growing and innovating to further sharpen and perfect his gift."
