Since Cuneiform's inception, we've released recordings by some of the best avant-garde musicians from around the world, including new work by young ensembles and archival recordings by avant-garde icons. Our catalog roams a wide range of genres, from experimental rock to classical minimalism, prog-rock to jazz improvisation, electronic/ambient to jazz-rock-fusion, and music beyond genre. In the quarter century since Cuneiform Records began, our artists have received worldwide airplay and have achieved positive recognition from critics across the globe. Cuneiform continues to release adventurous music that deserves to be heard.
Wayside Music was established in January of 1980 as a mail order operation working in conjuction with Cuneiform Records. For over 28 years, we have been dealing in progressive rock, experimental rock, new jazz, off-beat, contemporary and many other undefinable musics from across the globe.
