Poor Rich Kids -

The year was 1995 when Skells and Jayles first met in middle school, When they started traded mixtapes and cd's back and forth and studing the lyrics and concepts of there favorite emcee's. There first performance came in the 7th grade when they got in trouble and the teacher wanted them to write a song about "Respect". That song was never recorded but they did perform it again and again at sweet 16's and house party locally around the area.

It wasnt till the following year when they acutally took there ryme books to a studio up the road from Jayles, and recorded there first 3 song demo. As time went on writing, producing tracks and performing came natural, so they started to take there craft seriously. While in High School, there were generating a buzz and getting the local DJ's to spin there records, they were already focused on there future. After high school, they went off to college in NYC and attended the Intstitute of Audio Research, where they graduated with straight A's and masterd there craft, of producing and becoming recording engineers.

After countless amount of shows and neerly 20 mixtapes circulating the area, Jayles and Skells dont seem like there coming to a close anytime soon. With there life and heart set on the concept of real hip hop with that boom bap bass and drum, The Poor Rich Kids are still staying focused, All while representing upstate NY, the 845 region. In the words of Skells "The key word with the Poor Rich Kids is SUBSTANCE"
