1887 - Southwestern Kansas:

As tensions rise between the towns of Coronado and Leoti each battling for the right to be the Wichita county seat, seven men from Leoti left for Coronado two weeks before the decision was made to have a little "fun". Not hours later, all out war erupted in the streets of Coronado. The men from Leoti fired from their wagon at the men from Coronado hiding in their windows and shops down Main Street. When five of them had died, the remaining two men from Leoti fled when the damage was done. Within two days, Dodge City marshals were there to clean up the mess made in Coronado. Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, and Bill Tilghman all arrived to assess the damage and arrest the men from Coronado who opened fire on the Leotians. The town was beginning to die off, and eventually the Leotian people helped to move everything from Coronado, and add it onto their own town, even the buildings. Although there is still a street sign in Coronado, most consider the town to have been. Left for Dead.



Coronado Left for Dead is a force to be reckoned with. Their high-energy stage presence and intricate guitar/bass work is up to par with some of the biggest names in today's Hardcore/Metal scene. In the day and age where most bands require 5 or more members, Coronado's four members produce a thick, heavy sound that is distinct and memorable to say the least. Initially influenced by bands such as Maylene and the Sons of Disaster as well as He Is Legend, drummer Sam Palm and bassist Brett Crawford began to write and create music for Coronado Left for Dead in the basement of Brett's house during the summer of 2007. Over the last two and a half years, Coronado has seen a few different guitarists, but finally settled on Brett's younger brother and guitar prodigy, Jake Crawford. At a ripe young age of 14, Jake was touring with Coronado and playing lead guitar every night on the road. When the rhythm guitarist left in early 2009, Brett and Jake stepped up and began working together using a variety of pedals and effects to cover both lead and rhythm parts during live performances. This brotherly bond, coupled with the phenomenal drumming style of Sam Palm and striking vocals of frontman Storm Shaw, makes for an extremely impressive package. Additionally, the band has a strong passion and love for their lord and savior Jesus Christ. Everything they do they do for Him, and even hold ministry groups and pray for fans on tour. In June of 2009, the four released The Means to the End EP, which proved an enormous stepping stone that has helped propel the band to where they are now. After multiple summer tours taking them all across the Midwest and South, as well as to the Cornerstone Music Festival in Bushnell, IL, the band has taken the last few months to write and record a follow-up to their 2009 release. With the release of their first full length album on March 20, 2010, the band has a lot on their plate. With the ability to record and produce two records within a year of each other, these efforts show that Coronado Left for Dead has the ambition and dedication to do what it takes to be succeed.
