Context

Biography
Founded in 2006 (by Koen, Ivo, John, Tom and Bram), the band's main goal was to play 80's thrash metal. Being influenced by bands like Venom, Carcass, Iron Maiden and Dismember it became apparent that Context delivered a combination of thrash, death and black metal, ranging from smooth and melodic guitar work to brutal blast beats.
After hitting the stage 4 times late 2006, the band was very lucky with their 5th show early 2007, opening for GWAR (US) in an almost sold out Dynamo venue.
As a result and popular demand of their fans, Context recorded a demo entitled 'Rehearsal 2007' which gave them a lot of positive attention which, in return, led to sharing the stage with bands like Manegarm (SE), Darkmoon (CH), Chainsaw and Carach Angren.
'Rehearsal 2007' contained 5 tracks of death/thrash metal in all its purity, directly recorded in the rehearsal room.
Late 2007 Context started recording material for their debut full length album entitled 'Human Devolution'. It was released in September 2008. It gave the band good reviews and shows in 2008 and 2009 with among others: Skyforger (LV), Taake (Nor), Vreid (Nor) and Urgehal (Nor).
2010 was a year of change, Bram and Context parted ways and Context started searching for a new vocalist while still working on new material.
In 2011 Bas joined the band and together with him Context is preparing to record their second full length album entitled 'Deteriorate'.
'Deteriorate' will contain new material with fast and aggressive riffs, melodic passages and blast beats that will kick the living daylights out of you.
As an appetizer Context is planning to release a 3 track E.P. entitled 'Tsjernobyl'. This E.P. will contain 3 parts of the 'Tsjernobyl' saga.
With lots of live experience Context has the knowledge to create a worthwhile set with over an hour of playing time. Satisfying almost every fan of metal in a wide range of subgenres.
