Colin & Kelly

It all started from when COLIN GILES & KELLY BURKE would pass each other in the halls at school. KELLY thought that COLIN was a jerk, because COLIN ignored him. But in reality, COLIN did not realize that he was being looked upon as a jerk by KELLY, because COLIN was not intentionally ignoring KELLY (.it was just one of those things). COLIN heard KELLY playing guitar under a tree at school one day, which caught COLINS attention. KELLY began singing, and COLIN thought to himself, "O.K. . who is this so called KELLY?" A few months later at the beach, KELLY was playing a rocksteady song. COLIN walked over to KELLY and sat down, and they both began singing in harmony right away. After a few months COLIN & KELLY became very close friends (no, not that close), and roomates, and they got the grand idea of playing some shows together. At that time the ska/reggae scene was a bit dead, so they began to play every Friday night at the Malibu Inn. COLIN worked with a guy, who knew some other guy, in a band called See Spot. COLIN asked him to bring him to one of our shows, and thats where we met BOOGIE. BOOGIE asked to play drums with us, which we happily accepted. The next Friday night COLIN, KELLY, & BOOGIE were at the Malibu Inn playing thier weekly 3 hour set. We eventually had other musicians such as ANDY BURNET from The Family, CHUCK FERRAR from See Spot, DAVE FUENTES & LINO TRUJILLO from Hepcat and BEN FERRAR from Chris Murray Combo sit in with us. This lasted for about a year but began fading away. Thats when COLIN and BOOGIE began The Channels (a Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae group). The Channels lasted for about one year. Then COLIN began The Big Sound (Ska/Rocksteady/Reggae) which BOOGIE plays saxaphone in, and is going strong these days. COLIN, has now ventured out on his own, and has released a solo record, that was produced by COLIN & BOOGIE. To order COLINS CD click COLINGILES.COM. The computer age has caught up with him, and KELLY has (Finally!!) made a myspace page and is sharing his songs with the world. KELLY has a beautiful wife and two very, very cute kids.

COLIN & KELLY still play shows from time to time, and still love Jamaican music as much as they ever did.
