Music doesn’t allow any borders and CLS&Wax are good examples of it. Clauss is originally from Swinoujœcie and started his career as a producer, WaxVax is from Cracow, and started out as a DJ. With the coming together of these backgrounds and the talent they have picked up along the way this duo are set to whip up a storm in world of drum and bass.

As a DJ, Waxvax, knows how to fill the dance floor and Clauss knows how to bottle the formula needed to achieve this.

A great example of this collaboration is “Why don’t you” released in 2004 on the massive “Weapons of Mass Creation” compilation on hospital records. It was a big success and helped them to materialize in UK and spread further a field than Europe.

Based in Poland but certain to blow up in the UK, their tracks have already been broadcast at BBC Radio One by the infamous Fabio and Grooverider, DJ Flight at BBC 1Xtra. Alongside this many a CLS & Wax production has featured in the sets of High Contrast, The Insiders, London Elektricity, to name just a few.

Over the last two years, CLS&Wax has been producers at NeverAfter.

Today they are raising the bar as DJs in Poland. And as if that wasn’t enough, they are currently the only Polish drum`n`bass artists releasing outside Poland.

Their music is full of jazz and funk and guaranteed to move the dance floor.

CLS aka Clauss:

CLS has been involved in music since primary school, he was playing piano at music school at a young age.

Early CLS productions go back 7 years, and were full of ambient sounds, far from the sounds of d ‘n’ b that he is making today.

He was fascinated by LTJ Bukem and Good Looking label. Jazzy, melodic music is what grabbed the interest of CLS and turned him towards drum’n’bass. CLS & Wax firmly believe that the future of electronic music is in d`n`b.

CLS hooked up with WaxVax 3 years ago because of their shared interest in music. At first Wax came on board with suggestions for shaping the tunes, then eventually made the leap to becoming a producer himself with tracks signed CLS & Wax.

The opportunity to test their early creations in DJ set’s proved to be an essential part of the production process. Waxvax was able to see the audiences reaction first hand. “This is the way we create music, to please the people, and shake the dancefloor. Waxvax and I, try to mix different music styles with drum`n`bass. We like to step outside the norm”. says CLS.

“We want our tracks full of funk and soul.”

Wax aka WaxVax:

Becoming a DJ in 1996, he took to the turntables at an illegal gig in Cracow. He was always interested in broken sounds like jungle and drum`n`bass. In his opinion, these are the only styles which are universal and the future of electronic music

Originally looking for trance sounds in his music but then roughing it up a bit with an influence of punk. Finally he found his own way, soulful d’n’b with jazz, funk, blues and latino sounds. He is one of the few DJs in Poland linking these genres with drum`n`bass. Waxvax and Clauss were the first drum`n`bass duo to diversify the Polish club scene, showing others that there are no borders in music…
