Clotilde Rullaud is a French Jazz singer, coming from the new generation of French jazz musicians. Since her childhood, she has been fascinated by the greatest Jazzmen, especially singers. She went into music school at the age of 5, and studied the flute and singing for 15 years.
She has always considered Jazz music as a large melting pot, a mix of influences and cultures, confronting Afro-American music with Latin cultures, mixing African folklore and the art of the words.
She produced with the support of the City of Paris her first album 'Live au 7 Lézards' in 2007, a guitar/voice duo with Hugo Lippi.
Heading a quartet composed of the famous pianist Olivier Hutman, the 7-string guitarist Dano Haider and the drummer Antoine Paganotti, she created in 2011 a bewildering album - In Extremis.
Light years away from a preconceived vocal jazz aesthetic, Clotilde Rullaud builds a world where Gainsbourg meets Bill Evans, and where the landscapes of Africa and the scents of South America do not let go.
