Cliff Wagner & The Old #7 are a band like nothing you have never heard. Mixing Bluegrass, Blues and Honky Tonk in a way that has audiences on their feet. Cliff and the other members of The Old #7 are taking American Roots Music to the next level, and the fans are following.
The Old #7 gained nation wide exposure on FOX TVs "The Next Great American Band" and played to over 10 million people each week. Originally the show's judges insisted that the general public would not accept a "Bluegrass" band and the Old #7 would have a short stay on the show. They not only appeared on six of the final shows but finished 7th out of 8,000 bands who originally tried out for the show. This was due to the huge number of fans who showed their support each week by voting to keep Cliff Wagner on the show.
The band's release of "HOBO'S LULLABY" produced by the gold & platinum award winning producer/engineer, Michael Vail Blum showcases the bands musicianship, versatility and song writing skills. Featuring hard driving blues influenced songs like "Rollin' & Tumblin", Bluegrass influenced tunes like "Lil' White Chapel", the country pop of "Shaffertown Road II", and tender ballads like "Same Old Me" and "Hobo's Lullaby" the album has something for everyone. They have even included some of the fan favorites from the FOX television show like Elton John's "Honky Tonk and the 50s classic "Poison Ivy".
The album debuted at #35 on the AMA Americana chart and shortly rose to #28 ! Also appealing to international audience the album climbed to #9 on the Euro Americana chart.
Cliff composed an original sound track for the sequel to the indie horror sensation "20001 Maniacs Beverly Hellbillies". Cliff not only wrote songs for the movie but played a leading role as "Legend" the scary minstrel for the maniacs crew. The movie debuted in Hollywood in july of 2010. The band is also featured in an episode of "Justified" that came out on FX in October of 2010. They performed Cliff's song "Castleneck" while wearing the original costumes from "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". In late summer of 2011 the band will release it's newest album "Country Funk" which will showcase why this band sounds like no other contemporary Bluegrass band playing today.
Cliff Wagner And The Old #7 showcase superior musicianship, magical harmonies and an energetic, fresh new sound. This combined with a live show that must be seen to be believed
