Claire Obscure & The Nocturnes are Ford (England) and Sylvie (France). They met in 2007 at a gig in Paris, fell in love, borrowed some guitars and immediately formed COATN the very next day! Describing their music, Ford says: 'For me, it's like a dark Birkin and Gainsbourg in reverse - following a multi-car smash-up with Sonic Youth, The Pixies and Tricky on a bleak motorway.' Sylvie says: 'COATN is a strange and romantic fairytale perhaps inspired by David Lynch, Baudelaire, Tim Burton, Noir Desir and Nick Cave.' Claire Obscure & The Nocturnes are currently recording a new EP. This Anglo-French band have also made three videos and have been featured on DAVID LYNCH'S EDEN'S HOUR in the US, BLU FM in Australia, a screening on LITTLE SONG FILMS and one of their tracks sampled and used by DJ SHADOW.
