With 8 albums released, tracks on more than 300 compilations that have sold over 2 million copies, a nomination for best TV advert music and collaboratins with Le Cirque Du Soleil or Yves Saint Laurent, Christophe Goze has become a leading future world and ambient Jazz musician whose name is respected as widely as the geographical influences from which he hones his craft. French Catalan born in Paris, he was fed from a young age on a diet of music engulfed by his father's own passion for the art. Coming from a family of professional classical musicians - Christophe had no other choice but to start his musical education at an early age, being taught piano at the age of 4, and at 9 the guitar. So innate was his musical ability!
At the age of 24 Christophe left Paris for Tokyo Japan where he lived 7 years. In Japan things came together and progressed at speed. Christophe signed a publishing deal with EMI/Virgin Publishing, and a record deal with Alpha Records.
His Japanese record label sent him to Real World Studios (UK) to record his debut album. There he met Peter Gabriel, a monumental moment for him as a huge fan of Mr Gabriel - a notable rock and fusion influence on Christophe. The debut album did reasonably well in Japan, opening doors and providing opportunities for a whole host of other activities, such as guitar session-work and composing for TV commercials. In fact, what followed for Christophe as a producer was the beginnig of a demanding schedule doing TV commercial for clients such as McDonalds, Shiseido, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi. In 1994 Christophe signed a new record deal with Nippon Columbia and released 2 more albums.
It's in Japan that Christophe started to develop his reputation as a world musician. Every week he would perform entirely improvised world fusion music sets with various world musicians. Shakuachi, koto, Chinese flute, African percussion. Mixing his downtempo grooves and jazzy guitars with world music elements which latter became Christophe's music trademark.
In 1996 Christophe decided to come back to Europe, moving from Japan straight to the UK. He knew coming to the UK would change his music and provide him with the new direction he so wanted.
By the year 2000 Christophe had become an established figure in the British TV industry as 'Mr World Music', producing music for Cavendish, Boosey & Hawkes, BMG, as well as the music for the Lynx TV advert for which he received a prestigious nomination as best TV commercial music at the 2001 British TV and Cinema Advertising Awards.
In 2002 he signed a new record deal with Uk label Bar De Lune and released "Show me the way". This was a major turn in Christophe's career. He was a producer in the Uk , signed to a UK label and his music was now being released and recognised worldwide. Still with Bar de Lune followed the release of the Radar album "Nothing is real" album.
In 2004, Christophe signed a publishing deal with Boosey & Hawkes and a new record deal with Blue Flame records (Germany) and released "The Traveller" album. That year Christophe also created his own label "Anything Goze Productions" . Soon followed "Turning Inside" His first released as an independent producer. That year Christophe moved from London to Scandinavia
To date, Christophe has produced numerous tracks mixing with true passion those world, jazz and classical elements he holds so dear. He is in essence a work-driven producer and musician, priding himself on being versatile.
The greatest thing about Christophe is his experimentation and the way he allows his travels and experiences to influence his style, with open mind and heart. He is ever ready for the next challenge, constantly exploring for new inspiration, and keeping an eye firmly on his roots as well as the future. With one constant of course: his passion for it.
