Chris Stroffolino is SHORT and has been in bands with TALL Front men (David Berman--Silver Jews; Sir Lord Von Raven, Brett Eugene Ralph, Brian Glaze), so he tends to think of TALL people as OLDER than him ("GROW out of it!")

He's also been known to be quick, dark and/or smokey, even as a cripple. He's the mastermind behind the BAY AREA DANCE CRAZE MP3 SINGLE HAPPENING COMP CONTEST DOCUMENTARY FASHION SHOW BRILL BUILDING BURLESQUE NIGHT PICNIC PARTY coming soon to a "living theatre" near you, and is gearing up for the 2010 release of his first solo album (and the book of the same title).

Oh yeah, Stroffolino also wrote a lot of books of poetry, and they made NOTHING happen!

Glorious Nothing! And music/cultural criticism, etc.

One version of Chris Stroffolino is on a mission to BRING BACK THE PIANO to live clubs

(he's a one-man piano guy for parties by the way; got a big repertoire of "rock and roll era" standards). PIANO PLAYERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!

Like the cockroach after the oil runs out, the piano will survive the techno, DJ, karaoke machine!

Another version of Chris Stroffolino is "in between bands"; rehearsing with a grooving rhythm section (who have played with Bay Area veterans like Polkacide, Flipper and Jello Biafra's Dick Army), in a kinda "indie-rock Jam Band" (think more Velvets, or Howling Hex than say Grateful Dead). In fact, they're currently auditioning CO-VOCALISTs (other instruments a plus. Here's the AD actually:

Ad for Vocalist With Something Different

Drummer, bassist, and male vocalist/keyboardist, looking for second vocalist (co-vocalist), with a sense of theatre in performance and vocal stylings, to round out our sound Ideally, one would be comfortable both Singing and Talking while the rhythm section lays down grooves; and is also equally interested in Structured songs and Improv; Recording and Playing Live.

Don't care about virtuosity as much affective emotional range--from a whsiper to a scream, from the trivial to the profound, from the humourous to the deadly sacred.

Non-vocal instrument (second percussion especially, or melodic instruments such as guitar) a plus; but not necessary. FEMALE or MALE: think Patti Smith or Mark E. Smith or Brix E Smith (but not so much The Smiths), Beefheart, PJ Harvey; the vocal counterpoints of early Sleeter Kinney (don't have to harmonize, and don't expect other singer to harmonize) or even "I Got A Feeling" (Beatles). Piper At The Gates of Gil Scott Heron.

Don't need to be a song-writer (especially a "singer/songwriter") for this project; we already got a singer/songwriter with sense of simply melodic structure though if you're not into words with meaning, at least words with phonemes are important. Open to Hip-Hop, as long as it's danceable, righteous thought provoking stand-up words.

Be harsh when I'm pretty and melodic, be melodic when I'm pretty.

All about presence!
