Thanks for coming to the myspace. This was Low Lanterns, but the wind has changed and I've morphed back into me. (I have 700 cd's here in my hallway with Low Lanterns on. I guess that makes them collectible now. £10 + p&p. get involved!)

I was born in Stockport - the place gives you a view of the world you can never shake off. (And wouldn't want to); I live in London; and I'm in love with York. I spent my summer holidays in a caravan in Anglesey listening to the rain on the tin roof, and I have never worn a pair of skinny jeans in my whole life. I spend most of my days either in the studio or the kitchen and I can't drive. How is that for a biog? A bit like my hair in the morning. I write songs in batches like doing your washing. It's been said occasionally that the songs can be a little reflective, but there's always hidden a sunbeam of hope or humour in there somewhere if you wait til the end.

I released a record as half of The Bench Connection two years ago with Matt Deighton (get it, it's gorgeous), and am now finished with this solo record. I'm also coming to the closing stages of a more electronic album I've been writing and recording with my mate Mark. so get ready for a humdinger of an album. no acoustic guitar in sight. and pretty upbeat.

Respect and gratitude to those music loving legends Mitch and James at Sonic Distributions for the SE mics. Good hippies in a sea of yuppies.

I'm very proud to have been able to borrow some of Howard Barlow's pics for the artwork, which is imminent. He has the most amazing collection going, a lifetime of amazing pictures that paint the wrinkles and smiles on the face of Manchester and beyond from the early 70's to now. Please check out his website, his pictures are such great talking points on your wall.
