BIO - This is just a snippet from the bio's found on other sites. I've been playing guitar since the mid '60's, and have a wide realm of influences that have marked me. I actually remember hearing Andre Segovia on Ed Sullivan (as well as the Beatles), and got hooked. I had been playing piano for 5 years, but it suddenly took a back seat.

I majored in classical guitar in college, then got a masters in composition. these formal influences have been wedded to the guitar stylings of English folk (John Renbourne, Bert Jansch) jazz (Joe Pass), piedmont blues (Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Willie McTell), eclectic guitarists (Pierre Bensusan, Michael Hedges, Phil Keaggy), Chet Atkins of course, and, I guess, any guitarist I've ever heard. Now I write songs and instrumentals, do a lot of arranging, and enjoy playing on other artists' CD projects.I play in a couple of duos as well as solo: covers in restaurants (w/ vocals), originals in coffee houses, house concerts, church concerts, weddings, parties, etc.I'm a Christian, which means I'm trusting Christ alone for everything, and my songs delve into matters of the heart, soul, and spirit, exploring life through the eyes of a person of conviction. I want to communicate my commitment to, and wonder of, Christ, while also reflecting on life's shortcomings and challenges.I feel that my art is an accumulation of a wide variety of influences - classical, jazz, folk, blues, rock, etc. - For that reason I don't feel that I'm all that original, but I sense a still, small voice within me, attempting to express the beauty that I see and feel, from my own unique perspective. I believe music is it's own reward, and it is with a deep sense of responsibility that I explore and deepen my sensitivity to it, and pass it on to any willing listener.See my website for an explanation of THE 3-PENNY CANTATA, a Lenten/Easter song-cycle that I wrote and perform regularly.
