CHOP SHOP CARTEL

Doe Boi (aka Jon Doe) and Trew (aka St. Louis Armstrong) came together through an independent label from St. Louis, where Doe (hailing from Capitol Heights, Maryland-D.C. metro area) was the producer and Trew (North St. Louis, Missouri) started off as the "hype-man". After a year, a turn of events happened which gave Doe and Trew the opportunity to work together as rap artist and producer. After this collaboration the label recognized the chemistry between them and decided to form the group Chop Shop. Chop Shop released their debut single and video "Don't Trip" and it became an instant smash hit in the Mid-West and the South, recieving over 300 spins a week on BDS independent charts. Chop Shop then hit the studio to crank out their first mixtape called "The Candy Paint Mixtape". A promotional tour followed, allowing Chop Shop to work and perform with the likes of Static Major, Ray J, Jim Jonsin, Twista, Bun-B, Juelz Santana, and No Limit Records. While touring, the group released the remix to "Don't Trip" which became an even bigger success and earned a spot in the daily rotation on XM66 raw and Sirius satellite radio. Two follow-up singles were released consecutively, "La La La" and "Trickin", which both equaled the acclaim that "Don't Trip" recieved, making Chop Shop a known name in the highly populated hip hop scene. The "Trickin" single success helped launched the release of the "Slick Money Mixtape" featuring Static Major, Nappy Roots, B.G., and Shawty Red. "Slick Money" was the 1 cd in St. Louis for 2007 in all independent retail stores.

Doe and Trew recognized that they had an incredibly different, uniquely interesting sound that vibed on Doe's heavy percussion, with a sonic boom for an 808 and his dominant flow delivery, along with Trew's explosively-energetic rhyme pattern, with a Mid-South bounce in his drawl that's perfect for a hook. The duo's obvious chemistry was so apparent, that they decided to create their own independent label called C.S.C. Productions, renaming their group Chop Shop Cartel. Chop Shop Cartel (a.k.a. CSC or Tha Cartel), moved their operation to the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area (D.M.V.), right off the heels of the success of the last 2 mixtapes, to start a new movement in Doe's home area, since Trew's home area of St. Louis had been taken over by "Cartel Mania" already. Doe and Trew then set out to vigorously push their new single "Go Hard" a song stating you gotta go hard to get what you want, and they wanted to be the best group ever! They were determined to create an even richer sound than before and accomplished that with the release from their new label. "Go Hard" is one of the biggest singles ever released by an indepedent group in the history of hip hop. While finishing their third mixtape "The Go Hard Street Tape" (all original production), the buzz of "Go Hard" off of Digiwax was so popular that it reached DJ Law from Marsielle, France, who requested CSC to write and produce music for major french artists like Kenza Farah, Jmi Sissoko, and Lorenzo. In France (South of France-Marsielle Beach), CSC shot a video for "Go Hard" featuring Lorenzo and headlined a show at La Plage and two other popular venues. Upon returning back to the U.S., CSC finished the remix to "Go Hard" featuring legendary rapper D.M.C. of RunDMC and Yo Gotti.
