Vance Branch was born in Richmond,Virginia where he and his now deceased sister (Alvonia-an aspiring singer) were raised by their loving single mother. In the trenches of Richmond's violent churchill housing projects, this single mother instilled in her children the determination to succeed beyond these limitations. Vance envisioned himself as a successful Music Industy Mogul, and with persistence he held on tight to his dreams overcoming many obstacles and beating the odds. Vance's family history is rich in Music Business, as far back as the early 1950's, where his Grandmother, known as "LAURIE TATE", became the first R&B jazz singer on ATLANTIC RECORDS with the hit single"ANYTIME ANYWHERE", along side label mate, the illustrious MR.RAY CHARLES, and THE JIM MORRIS BAND. His dad played the drums for SONY RECORDS group UJIMA, and his mother was a back up singer for the group, which solidified choo's love for this business and molded his destiny in music. Vance begin DJing neighborhood parties, high school dances, and local clubs, which led him to begin writing and producing his own songs. Choo got his big break at age 22, when he produced the track "HOLD ON BE STRONG" for the legendary entertainment icon, TUPAC SHAKUR, on his platinum album "R U STILL DOWN" which sold over 4 million copies worldwide. The success and caliber of this song created a buzz like brush fire, catapulting Vance to produced the song entitled, "MALCOLM", for GHOSTFACE KILLAH'S "SUPREME CLIENTELE" album, which went certified Gold and also GHOSTFACE KILLAH GREATEST HITS ALBUM on Def Jam Records. Vance flourished while working with other artists such as TEKITHA,BLUE RASBERRY, Black Knights and recently laid tracks for Quan, Shyheim. In 1996 Vance launched his own production company, record label, and publishing company while securing an adminstrative publishing deal with a U.K. publishing conglomerate called "BUG MUSIC". Vance also tapped into his budding theatrical talents when he landed an appearance in the famous actor TIM REID's independent film, "FOR REAL". Vance is the owner of "CHOOZ CD MASTERING HOUSE" in which he mastered Trillville, Shyheim, Tekitha, Joe Claire and others.
