Chickens and Pigs play hard. They bleed on their guitars, scar their shoulders with strap burns and generally rock out like epileptics in a trailer park during tornado season. Chickens and Pigs love what they do.

Eight years, 31 musicians, 3 CDs and a 4th on the way, the road goes on forever and the party never ends. Women of both high and low morals have been known to frequent taverns where Chickens and Pigs ply their trade.

Jeff Evans (songs, guitar, singing), Jack Parrillo (bass, slide guitar, mandolin, harmonica, singing) and Kim Ware (drums, parlour tricks) have either slept on your couch or know people who have slept on your couch. Rootsy rock and roll tangles with 1920s and 30s hillbilly and blues sensibilities until one or the other cries uncle. There are no losers at Chickens and Pigs shows. Everyone goes home a winner!

Various permutations of Chickens and Pigs have spilled beer onstage at Smiths’ Olde Bar, The Earl, 10 High, Red Light Café, Star Bar and other such palaces and dives in their hometown of Atlanta and throughout the Southeast. Standout shows include the Star Bar’s 10th anniversary Halloween bash with Southern Culture on the Skids, the 2001 New Year’s Eve show at the same venue, and a highly successful jaunt to Fat City in Charlotte, NC which earned the band $15 and a 12-pack. Evans was featured on the cover of a short-lived local music magazine Phue in September 2003.

“Loose, stonesy rock gets dragged back to the country blues from which it sprung in Chickens & Pigs leader Jeff Evans’ hands.” – Atlanta Journal & Constitution

“Led by Jeff Evans (probably the most clever songwriter in Atlanta’s Redneck Underground), the country-rockin’ ensemble Chickens and Pigs sound like what might have happened if Hank Williams Sr. shoved Mick Jagger aside to take over lead vocals and songwriting during the Exile on Main Street and Some Girls sessions.” – Creative Loafing

“With his debut CD, PREACHIN' BLUES, Jeff Evans has produced a stunning "primitive art" piece with a truly Southern Americana feel. Along with his background band, CHICKENS & PIGS, he takes you on a journey of blues-raga, country-folk, Rolling Stones-type rockers, alt-country, blues rag, traditional folk and groove-blues.” – Ear Candy
