Hailing from the Crossroads of America, Chemcoma busted down the doors of their local Lafayette, Indiana music scene in late 2007 with their genre-defining EP, “You and Isolation.”

Chemcoma is a hardworking, blue-collar, "you get what you put in" band that is steadily maturing into a polished rock machine. Influenced by a wide range of artists, from Def Leppard and Journey to Sevendust, In Flames and Fleetwood Mac, their sound is a fresh and unique combination of the familiar. Always high energy and emotionally powerful, the band has the ability to cross several genres, from Metal to Pop Rock, without blinking an eye and still sounding distinctly like themselves. The band prides itself on its multi-vocalist approach and dual-gendered vocal arrangements and harmonies almost as much as it does its thick, driving guitar riffs and thumping rhythm section. "You and Isolation" exemplifies the band's range and diverse sound. Not many others interpret music to their audience quite like Chemcoma.

At the end of 2009, Chemcoma again went into the studio and were determined to up the ante. Good things are to come in 2010 with new tunes, a new look and the same old face-melting good times.

This band is about family, creativity, perseverance and attitude. Music lovers unite. Chemcoma loves you.

*To clarify and avoid any controversy. The name "Chemcoma" is not derived from anything related to drug abuse or illegal substances. All members of Chemcoma are drug-free and diligently promote responsible drinking by those of legal age only.

For reference and as a point of interest, the band derived its name by combining the first two letters of each of the founding member's names in an order that made some kind of sensicalness. The original members being CHris, EMily, COdy and MAtthew, resulted in "CHEMCOMA" after a little negotiating and decoding.

Yes, we even had to explain that whole thing to our concerned mothers. So, there you have it. Myth busted.
