Biography
Cheater Pint was a four-piece rock band from Boston, Mass., from 1999-2008.
While described in the press as "Abba meets The Sex Pistols" and "the Go-Go's on massive steroids", spectators likened Cheater Pint to the Fastbacks, Breeders, X, Veruca Salt, the Runaways, and the Pixies. Band members also consider the Replacements, Superchunk, The Clash, Cheap Trick and Pavement amongst their influences.
Gigging in the Boston area, Cheater Pint built a reputation for raw, exuberant, in-your-face live performances that juxtaposed the accessible pop of their studio recordings.
Cheater Pint earned invitations to the 30th WBCN Rock 'n' Roll Rumble in 2008, the International Pop Overthrow in 2006 and 2007, the Rising Tide Concert Series. As a local band they played at several Boston-area venues including as The Middle East Club, T.T. The Bear's Place, The Abbey Lounge, and Great Scott, with the likes of The Cliks, Aberdeen City, The Charms, The Gravel Pit, Humanwine, The Figgs and Damone.
Propelled by the success of the single "Control Freak," the 'Pint released a full-length album in September 2007, reaching number 2 on the Boston local radio chart. It also charted or reached rotation at over 150 college/community radio stations across the U.S. and Canada.
