Cem Koksal Biyografi
Cem Koksal 3.7.1976'da Istanbul'da dogdu. Müzige ilkokul caginda mandolin calarak basladi. Cocuklugu anne ve babasinin da etkisiyle 60'larin müziklerini dinleyerek gecen Cem'in mandolinden gitara gecisi 1987 yilina rastlar.
1991-1992 yillarinda Derya Yener'den aldigi teorik muzik dersleri muzikal gelisiminde onemli rol oynar. Bu siralarda arkadaslariyla Istanbul Kadikoy'de bir bodrum katinda muzik calismalarina devam etmekte, ayni zamanda okumakta oldugu Alman Lisesi'nde muzikal faaliyetlere katilmaktadir. Gunun populer rock gruplari her ne kadar ilgisini cekse de bir sure sonra degisiklik arayisina girer ve buyuk olcude Johann Sebastian Bach'in "Air" inin etkisi ile muzikal gorusu ve uretkenligi farkli bir yonde gelisir. Artik klasik muzik Cem Köksal'in hayatinda onemli bir yer tutmaktadir. Tercihlerini hep tonal modlardan yana kullanmaktadir ve Johann Sebastian Bach onun en buyuk kahramanlarindan biri olmustur.
Calismalarini gitar tekniginde mukemmellesmeye yonlendiren Cem Koksal, standart tekniklerde oldugu kadar alternatif tekniklerde de sasirtici gitar yetenegini sergilemeye baslar. Gitar--n anatomisine merak salan Cem Koksal aylarca suren bir calismanin sonunda tumuyle kendi dizayni olan (Shark) bir gitar yaratir. Müzikal olgunluga eristigini hissettiginde ilk albumunu uretmek için calismaya baslar. Beste ve duzenlemeleri yapmak, sozleri yazmak disinda albumu kendi kaydetmek istemekteydi. Bu tek kisinin altindan kalkmasi zor gozulen bir yuk olmakla beraber Cem Köksal'a gore istedigi urunu elde etmenin en iyi yoluydu. Calismalarina yine okuyarak baslar. Iki yil boyunca buldugu kaynaklarla kendini egitir. Studyo semalarini cizer, kendine uygun ekipmanlari tespit eder ve 2002 yilinda kendine ait Stüdyo 29'u kurar. 2003 yili icinde kayitlari tamamlanan album, ".Just Set me Free!!" adini aldi ve muzikseverlerin begenisine sunuldu. Album yapisi ve icerigi itibari ile Turkiye muzik piyasasinda bir ilk olma ozelligini tasidigi halde kisa zamanda cok iyi tepkiler aldi ve yuksek satis rakamlarina ulasti. ".Just Set Me Free!!" Cem Koksal'a esas amaci olan muzikseverlerle bulusma sansini tanidi. Verdigi bir cok konserin yani sira 2005 yilinda Coca-Cola Soundwave'e davet edildi. Toplam 11 ilde 150.000'den fazla universite ogrencisiyle bulusan Cem Koksal ve ekibi gosterdigi performans ile 2006 yilinda tekrar bu buyuk organizasyonda yerini aldi. Bu basariya imza atan ilk ve tek muzisyen olma sifatini tasiyan Cem Koksal, son turnede 200.000'in üzerinde seyirci karsisina cikti. Fakat bu projede onemli bir farklilik vardi. Deep Purple ve Rainbow gibi dunyanin en buyuk gruplarinin solistligini yapmis Joe Lynn Turner Cem Koksal'in teklifini kabul edip ekibe dahil oldu. Son derece basarili gecen konserler seyircilere unutulmaz dakikalar yasatti. Soundwave'in Bursa ayaginda toplam 35.000 kisinin katilimiyla bir konser DVD'si kaydedildi. Teknigi, performansi, seyircisiyle Turkiye'de tek olan bu DVD, "Cem Koksal featuring Joe Lynn Turner – Live!!" adiyla Mart 2007'de raflarda yerini aldi. Cem Koksal'in hemen bunun ardindan tamamladigi ve vokallerde Senay Lambaoglu'nun yer aldigi ilk Turkce sozlü albumu "Siyah Beyaz Masallar" da Mayis ayi icerisinde satisa sunuldu. Cem Koksal 2007 sonbaharinda muzik piyasasina Turkce sozlu flamenko tarzlariyla iddiali bir giris yapacak olan "Oyku – Berk" projesinin muzik direktorlügunu ve kayitlarini yapti. Album "Kismet" adiyla Aralik ayinda piyasada olacak. Cem Koksal, müzik atolyesinde egitime devam etmekte olup su an Joe Lynn Turner ile kaydedecegi Ingilizce sozlü solo albumun hazirliklarini yapmaktadir.



Cem Koksal Biography
Cem Köksal was born in Istanbul on 03.07.1976. He has started his music life in primary school by playing mandolin. The days that Cem, whose childhood was passed by listening to the music of 60s due to his parents' influence, passed to guitar from mandolin were in 1987. Theoretical music courses that he took from Derya Yener in 1991 and 1992 had a significant place in his musical development. During these days he was continuing on his musical works in a basement floor in Kad--köy, Istanbul with his friend and was participating to musical events in his high school, German High School. Although he was interested in the popular rock groups of those days he began to look for something different and his musical perspective and productivity took a new path especially due to the influence of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Air". From then on, classical music was very important for Cem Köksal. He was always choosing tonal modes for his music and Johann Sebastian Bach had became one of his greatest heroes. But an album that he purchased at these days has totally directed his musical perspective towards a new synthesis. That album was Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Odyssey". Blending the classical music elements with modern music in a harmonious way, using the guitar up to the limits, and high melodic level of songs despite of thousands of flowing notes and a very strong sound has deeply influenced him. Cem Köksal, who directed his studies for being perfect in guitar playing, began to show his surprising guitar skills not only in standard techniques but also in alternative techniques. After he became interested in the anatomy of guitars he created a new guitar (Shark) after months of studies, which is totally a product of his design. When he felt that he has reached his musical maturity, he began to the studies for his first album. He was not only aiming to prepare the compositions and arrangements and to write the songs of his album but also to record it. Although this was being seemed as a huge burden that cannot be overcome by one single person, Cem Köksal was thinking that this was the only way for achieving the results that he wants. He again started his studies by reading books and he trained himself for two years with the resources that he found. He drew the studio plans and schemes and established his own studio, Studio 29, in 2002. The album, records of which have been completed in 2003, has been given the name of "Set Me Free!!" and offered to the appreciation of music lovers. The album was a big surprise because it was the first time that a major label (Universal) gave it's label for a heavy-metal album, which had lyrics in English. In short time Cem Köksal was much known at music era and that brought the offers for concerts. Köksal participated many big festivals such as Rockistanbul with Queensryche, "Rock the Nations" with Manowar, and Coca- Cola Soundwave Tour 2005 - which was a total success. The band performed in 11 different cities of Turkey to 150.000 University students. Because of his high performance on stage, Coca – Cola Soundwave Org. invited Köksal to the 2006 tour again. But this time the band included legendary rock vocalist Joe Lynn Turner – former vocalist of Deep Purple, Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen etc. The tour was for 10 different cities and pulled 200.000 students to the organization. Cem Köksal produced a spectacular DVD of Bursa concert. 35.000 students were the highlight of this big show. This DVD was released in March 2007 – Cem Köksal feat. Joe Lynn Turner – Live!! . Immediately after this release he finished his second solo album "Siyah Beyaz Masallar" (Black and White Fairy Tales), sang in Turkish by Senay Lambaoglu – a jazz vocalist. The album has been released on 17th of May 2007. This summer Cem Koksal will compose a soundtrack for the upcoming Turkish movie "Ilkbahar – Sonbahar" (Spring – Autumn). At the same time Cem Köksal and Joe Lynn Turner are planning to record a new album this summer.
