“Technasia meets underworld for a pint of Guinness.” a description by Radio One of the Celtec Twinz music.

Twin brothers Mark and Richie Thompson have been producing and pushing their own sound for the last decade, a sound which incorporates and fuses the old traditional percussive instruments of Irelands turbulent and tribal past with the forward thinking element of dance music.Techno.

Not wanting to involve themselves in over-rating hype, the twins have simply kept making and playing music, a philosophy which saw them sign to UK techno jock, Ade Fenton's Advanced records in 2004. We were Kingz, their debut EP saw massive support from Laurent Garnier, Slam and Rob Da Bank to name a few, and put them on the road to solid acclaim. Subsequent releases doubled in sales and opened the doors for remixes and gigs. In 2006, the twinz signed work to Naked Lunch, Gotham Grooves, Firefly Recordings and Paraell 125.

Their name (pronounced Kell-tech) simply explains what they are all about.techno with a Celtic feel. On the dance floor expect the same quality as they fuse everything from techy progressive to fat tribal, dark percussive to trippy electro, click tech-house to full on party techno cuts. With more releases already lined up on Advanced and other imprints, big things are happening for these brothers from Ireland!

Now, with their superb debut release for Louis Osbourne’s new Mija Recordings, they have delivered two stunning tracks that are true to those roots. Their name (pronounced Kell-tech) simply explains what they are all about techno with a Celtic feel. Both “Sorbit Orbit” and “Keralan Skies” are exceptional examples of exactly why Celtec Twinz are held in such high regard in the global techno community.

First up on remix duty is Jamie Anderson, who has been a pioneer on the global tech house & techno scenes for over 15 years. This past year has seen his partnership with Deepgroove aka Deepgroove & Jamie Anderson, land them releases on Cocoon, Rekids and Harthouse. Jamie is also working on a project for the fourth release on Mija Recordings with vocals by the Chicago Acid House legend K-Alexi. Watch out for that! In the meantime check his stripped-back, funked-up, latin, percussion fest remixes of “Sorbit Orbit”.

Bringing this outstanding Celtec Twinz package to a close is none other than the mighty Psycatron. Having spent the past seven years hosting their residency at Shine and the Stiff Kitten in Belfast (N Ireland), where they've supported some of the biggest DJ's on the planet, 2009 has seen Psycatron emerge as one of the biggest Irish acts of the year as their profile continues to grow on a global scale with every single release and remix. They have taken things to the next level with a string of releases on Fergie’s Rekluse, Christian Smith’s Tronic, Carl Craig’s Planet E sub-label Guilty Pleasures, and Will Saul’s Simple. You can hear what all the fuss is about when you check their deeply hypnotic remix of “Keralan Skies” here.!
