Celeste Scalone Felicia Celeste Scalone (born April 18, 1984), better known by her stage name Penahit, is an American recording artist, songwriter and actress. She was raised by a her parents in several cities across the US including Philadelphia, PA, Phoenix, AZ, Angel Fire, NM and Los Angeles, CA. Scalone attended Taft High School and Los Angeles Pierce College before pursue her music career.
Scalone began her music carrier in 2002 when she was discovered by producer Channel 7 (musician), formerly 7 Aurelius. Scalone was first released through The Inc. Records on the Ja Rule album “The Last Temptation (album)” on the single “Murder Reigns”. In 2003, Celeste Scalone co-wrote, "I Need a Man" with Foxy Brown (rapper) and was featured on the album “Ill Na Na 2: The Fever”. The album scheduled for a May 6, 2003 release date, was canceled due to disagreements between Foxy Brown (rapper) and Bad Boy CEO Sean Combs.
In 2004 Scalone was chosen as one of the 19 finalists by Sean Combs on “Making the Band” 3: Danity Kane. After Making The Band 3, Scalone became a semi-finalist on season 5 of “American Idol (season 5)”.
Celeste is currently working as a songwriter in Los Angeles. Scalone won 1st place at the 2009 U.S.A Songwriting Competition for a song called "Red Light" which was produced by Brian Kennedy (producer) and has a placement on Tania Christopher's new album, "A Piece Of Me" with a song called "Fingers Crossed". Scalone has several soundtrack placements including, “Cover (film)” starting Vivica A. Fox and “Wild Cherry (2009 film)” starting Rumer Willis . Scalone also co-wrote “Once In A Lifetime” on the Raekwon Staten Go Hard 2009 mix tape.
