My name is CAS METAH and this is my history:

I started writing raps back in 1995. I wrote for 2 years before I ever picked up a mic. (I wish more cats would do that, would save for a lot of wack music out there.) In '97 I started making mixtapes on a 4-track and getting those out locally. A few people have told me they still have that stuff and I pray to God it never gets out, cuz it's pretty bad! haha. I started going to a pre-production studio and also bought a digital 8-track to continue making music from the comfort of my bedroom. I was doing solo stuff and also working closely with my crew Verbal Mass, which later morphed into Field Specialists, as well as other Ohio underground artists including The Riddler Mr. Mental, Wrec Room, Prophecy, N.O.M.A.D. and The Architects. It was during these early years I also shaped my craft as a freestyle/battle emcee. By 2001 I was ready to take my music to the next level and started working on my first "real" album. That meant buying original beats and paying $30 an hour for studio time. It was also at this time I started doing live shows all over the midwest. In '02 I independently pressed up "Key Tah Life". I met JustMe and we started Scribbling Idiots in 2003. In 2004 we put out "Scribbling Idiots Present: JustMe & CAS METAH" on our own label ESeye Music. In '05 I was involved in the cross-continent crew G-Force Alliance, which released an album entitled "Episode 1: The Unification". But the buzz really got cracking when Scribbling Idiots released the "Idiomatic Mixtape Vol. 1" in August 2005. This established us as "the next thing" in a lot of peoples eyes. In October '05 I dropped my next solo "Dimension Tide". In 2006 I did a lot of writing and recording for various projects, collabs, etc. but didn't release any cd's. Scribbling Idiots pressed a 12" single featuring hip-hop legend Masta Ace. End Of Earth records contacted me about working with them and they released my next solo album in the fall/winter quarter of 2007. I've been featured on several indie records, but two of the bigger ones that came out in '07 were "Cream Of The Crop" (from Dungeon Family legend Witchdoctor's album "The Diary Of An American Witchdoctor" on the Williams Street/Adult Swim imprint) and "No 2 Ways" (from Sev Statik and Dust's album "Back To Dust" on the Rawkus 50 imprint). Scribbling Idiots signed to Illect Recordings and released our debut crew album "The Have Nots" in January of '08. It has sense then been received by fans worldwide as a "classic" hip-hop album. Also in '08, JustMe and I independently pressed our 2nd duo album "JustMe & CAS METAH are Unemployed", and my hometown crew Field Specialists put out a mixtape "Hustle Case". In November '08 my homie Deuce Complex and I released a duo project, METAH COMPLEX titled "Pound The Pavement". Next up is my "posse-cut compilation" style album "Guest Room". It's coming really soon on Illect Recordings.

I've landed several gig's with acts such as Twista, Cassidy, Bizzy Bone, The Pharcyde, Witchdoctor, CunninLynguists, Tonedeff, Pack FM, Blueprint, Illogic, Glue, GRITS, Mars ILL, Pigeon John, Skillet, Sev Statik, Red Cloud, Playdough, LA Symphony, Lightheaded, Furthermore, Tonex. the list just goes on and on. It's a lot of fun doing shows. I love being on stage and interacting with the crowd. That's definitely my favorite part about being an emcee. Equally enjoyable however is the actual music-making itself though. I have collaborated with sooo many talented people. I can't list them all, but here are a few you may have heard of: Masta Ace, T-Mo (Goodie Mob), Witchdoctor (Dungeon Family), 4th Disciple (Wu-Tang Clan), J. Rawls (Lone Catalysts), Copywrite (MHZ/Weathermen), CunninLynguists, Holmskillit, Pigeon John, Deepspace5, Tunnel Rats, and Lightheaded. Side projects coming soon include: Left Field Radio (with Mr. SOS and Chapter13), Darke Brothers (with Wonder Brown of SI), and Analog Amazon (with Mouth Warren of SI). I have also been doing a lot of collab work for many other artists releases, established and up-and-comers alike, so be on the lookout for those. Basically, I stay grinding. I'm trying to have a bigger catalog than 2Pac! lol. peace. God Bless.
