The Phenom Cartel was born July 4th 1989 in Brooklyn, N.Y. With no father in his life, he & his mother soon moved to Elizabeth, NJ. He slowly realized the harsh reality of poverty. He grew up in the church and fell in love with music which quickly became his escape from the neighborhood. At 13 years old he knew he was in love with music. Composing his first rhyme and realizing that he could express himself through music; he started crafting his artistry and pursuing his dream of becoming one of the best emcees and artists in Hip-Hop. At the age of 16 he was introduced to Ebok (CEO of Alkatraxx L.L.C) who had him performing & recording throughout New Jersey and the tri-state area and gaining a strong local buzz. They produced mixtapes and Cartel did features on other artist songs. By 18 years of age Cartel was introduced to Doitall from the legendary Hip-Hop group Lords Of The Underground @ Alkatraxx. With Alkatraxx & Lord Gang Worldwide behind him, Cartel is now ready to present his way of Hip-Hop to the world with his debut album entitled “STROKE OF GENIUS”. The album features production from 9th Wonder, Young Guru, Pete Rock, V12, and LexdyneProductions to name a few. Notable songs are: “Clear The Record” (produced by V-12) and Coolman (produced by Pete Rock). In the words of Cartel:
