"Clark belts it out like a cabaret singer, but her songs incorporate so many styles of music--tango, jazz, classic country--that calling her a folk songwriter feels like a half-truth…Whether she's singing a song that sounds like a number from an obscure forgotten musical or a straightforward folk tune, Clark always sounds just like herself." Sara Brickner, Seattle Weekly

Seattle artist, Carrie Clark, has been wooing crowds with her superb voice and playful rhythms for over a decade. Charming audiences with songs about one night stands, femme fatales and cowboy lullabies, Carrie draws upon classic country, folk, and jazz creating a collision of styles, effects, and textures that can only be described as her very own.

Carrie's fourth independent release, Between the Bed Sheets and Turpentine, features her backing band, the Lonesome Lovers, and production by Seattle's own, Martin Feveyear (Blue Scholars, Zoe Muth, Jesse Skykes, The Presidents of the USA) and maintains her infectious energy and genre-bending meld of country, folk and old time vaudeville charms. This latest CD follows up her previous release, "Seems So Civilized" that garnered her radio play across the US as well as internationally in Belgium, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands. Carrie has shared the stage with peers such as Basia Bulat, Mark Olsen (the Jay Hawks), Vagabond Opera and Laura Veirs.

An Oregon native brought up on Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle, and Johnny Cash, Carrie immersed herself in music at an early age, teaching herself piano and guitar. Her liberal use of diverse musical sounds from country twang to vaudeville swing is unsurprising coming from a singer whose wide-ranging background includes membership in a Belle-and-Sebastian-esque pop band, a folk duo, a reggae band, and a big-band jazz ensemble.

Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers are currently performing regularly along the west coast and will release Between the Bed Sheets and Turpentine this fall. More information about her upcoming CD and Carrie's upcoming tour dates are available online at www.carrieclark.com.

Carrie's CDs are available on CDBaby.com as well as digitally on iTunes.
