Da Life Of Tay

(Da King of da Heels)

On May 1st 1985, Jacqueline Daniels and Rodney William gave birth to a star, by the name of Demontay “Tay” Daniels. Growing up in the country, Tay easily adjusted himself to the outdoors, and even though he hung out with his family enjoying the good life, Tay was still not a stranger to hard work. By the time Tay reached middle school he became one of the most popular kids there, due to his remarkable presence and striking aura. The sixth grade is where he discovered his gift for music. He joined the William R. Davie middle school marching band, where he played percussion. Street life began to get a hold of Tay, which caused him to transfer to three different schools within the same year, where he finally ended up at Enfield. While at Enfield he developed a street-life “hustling” mentality, though this never stopped him from pursuing his dream of music. When Tay became a freshman at Northwest Halifax High School he developed the skill of rapping. His peers began to rave he had a voice like no other. His natural ability with words caught the heart of the ladies and Tay later decided to take his dream to another level. He began selling out shows at the local skating rink in Roanoke Rapids. He decided to try turning his solo performance to a group act by adding longtime childhood friends Quan, and BT to form the group Suge Creek.

Suge Creek, was later discovered by the C.E.O. of Blacklite Enterprises, Chris. Even though they were a group, Tay was always singled out during talent shows for other projects. Suge Creek made their first album, Defensive Literature. Realizing they were not getting the support of their label, the group decided to venture off with the C.E.O. of Area 252, Jay Sword and it was back to the good life until a performance one night at a local bar, Quan felt the crowd was not respecting him enough, this led to some major beef with another local group by the name of 125 south, who were known to be good friends of Tay himself. This beef eventually led to the group to go their separate ways.

Tay however, was still a force to be reckoned with. While he continued to work with different music labels, he was destined to become one of North Carolina’s Best musical artists. And though he was faced with adversity, Tay still managed to graduate from high school with honors. He began to attend Livingstone College in Salisbury, where he received a Scholarship to march with their band. While in School he met a producer by the name of Jonathon “J” Stubbs, one of the hottest producers in North Carolina. Stubbs produced his mixed tape “DA Good and DA Bad” which kept not only the complete college circuit buzzing, but also local neighborhoods. The buzz they created was so major, they decided to form their own label –Breakin Out Ent. Tay’s first album called a legend is Born, was produced by Stubbs, and B.O.E later decided to Collaborate with In Da Streetzs Muzik Label. This move placed B.O.E on another plateau, and their hard work was finally beginning to manifest itself. Tay has been able to now relax and focus all his energies on his upcoming album set for release in Summer 2008 , still yet untitled while he finishes up his last semester of college. Tay is still selling out shows. He is currently preparing for his Poze With It Video also set for April 2008. Tay is definitely one to watch, the rest will be history in the making.
