My work has been recognized with three Juno Awards (the Canadian Grammy), multiple independent music awards, and a Genie Award (the Canadian Oscar). three Junos, 4 gold, 1 platinum and 1 double platinum album.
I've contributed music to The L Word, General Idea Art AIDs and the fin de siecle, The Trailer Park Boys Movie, Queer As Folk, This Revolution, Miami Vice, Cruising, Degrassi , series on CBC, MTV, VH1 and The History Channel. I wrote an autobiography entitled Anti Diva published by Random House. A film based on the book is in development.
My last solo performance was at The Brooklyn Museum of Art. Brooklyn. I've appeared at Luminato, Joes Pub, The Global Cabaret Festival, The Frostbite Festival, Toronto, Los Angeles, Reykjavik and San Francisco Prides. Michigan Womyn's Music. I appeared in SUCK a Vampire movie along with guest stars Moby, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and Henry Rollins.
