The phenomenon known as Carisma began life on september 11, 1980 at Parkway Hospitol in Houston, Texas. It is no coincidence that the most tragic event in our nation also took place on this date. Not a stranger to death and pain, Carisma has been plauged by both all his life. he was raised on the streets of Acres Homes, infamously known as "Tha 44". On these streets he lived a life filled with poverty, frustration and disappointment. All this without a father, in a single parent household anchored by two strong women, his mother and his grandmother. His mother, Betty Ann Daigle Brager died an early death on January 1, 1995. before she died she instilled an early love of music in Carisma by playing old classic records for him. He quickly came to appreciate the way lyrics and melodies could express so many emotions, good and bad, and fell in love with music of all kinds. In his early teens, he was introduced to Hip Hop by his late uncle Matthew Daigle, who exposed him to things like, beebop, break dancing, and how to really identify with music. "He had me listen to Kool Moe D, L.L. Cool J, Slick Rick, Sugar Hill Gang, KRS1,The Beastie Boys,N.W.A, YZ, Digital Underground, and Kid and Play. I use to roll out with him jamming Paula Abdual, Keith Sweat, Bel Biv Devoe, Al B. Sure, Bobby Brown shit if it was hot we was jamming it". later on he would jam Bone Thugs and Harmony, 5th Ward Boyz, UGK, Street Military, and The Ghetto Boyz. His own songwriting began years later. He was influenced by the explosion of Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Jay-Z,Nas,Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Mase,Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and Eminem. He took what he felt was the best of each of those artists and mixed it into one flavorful recipe and came out with his own swagga.his own style and his own special blend of his life's experiences, his pain, his heart and soul and the result is PURE CARISMA. Undeniably unique, extraordinarily passionate and heartfelt, he breaks the traditional mold of the southern style rap artists, and tells stories that burn with messages that can be felt by all who hear it.

" No matter how gangsta or soulful music is an escape like therapy and good music can put you into a state of hypnosis and give you a natural high" says Carisma. Everybody has songs that are directly connected with memories of things they were going thru when the song impacted their lives. What makes music art is the ability to convey those messages that will someday evolve into someones memories. Being from the hood the painful memories he endured are woven into the moral fibre of the man he is, and can be felt deeply as he weaves them into his lyrics. He is not just making noise, he's making music, but more then that.he is making history
