Capulet Biography

In August of 2003, the three remaining members of a young band called Rockwell (from Knoxville, TN) decided to attempt writing music as a three piece. This new writing situation created an interesting challenge for these young songwriters, ultimately producing a unique, yet marketable sound. After deciding on a name for themselves, Capulet began showcasing their new material to show-goers around the Knoxville area. Receiving positive feedback on their live performance, Capulet decided to record an album.

In January 2004, Capulet recorded an 8 song LP in Night Song Studios. The album, entitled Ship to Shore, was self-released on February 29, 2004, with PARK (Lobster Records) headlining the release show. After the release of their album, Capulet began to notice that more than just their friends were beginning to come see them play. Hometown shows were always packed despite minimal promotion. This fueled Capulet to try a winter tour in January of 2005. They toured the Northeast for 2 weeks. The shows were mostly well received, and they made good contacts for future engagements.

After nearly two years of playing music together and playing shows with bands such as PARK, Mock Orange, Feable Weiner, Adios, and The Remedy Session, Capulet decided to call it quits. Vocalist and bass player Chris Hill went on to get a steady job and eventually got married in April of 2006. Brothers Brandon (drums) and Josh (guitar / vocals) Manis then started a new band called Gamenight. They are still together and due for another album in 2008. After Capulet, Josh Manis also began a solo project called You Just Don’t. He is due for an album release in 2008 as well.

The Manis brothers and Hill are still great friends today. In fact, they played a Capulet reunion show in December 2006, which sold out. Look for more shows in the future from Capulet and possibly some new material.
