BIOGRAPHY:



For most Hip Hop fans, the first time they heard Cappadonna spit is a treasured memory. It was in 1995 on Raekwon’s now classic album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Cap had the last verse on one of the album’s singles, “Ice Cream”, and it blew everybody away. At that time, he was already a legend in the borough of Staten Island, but for fans worldwide it was a taste of things to come.



In 1996, the “Donnamite” appeared on five songs off of Ghostface Killah’s debut album Ironman. His never-ending verse on “Winter Warz”, which was also featured on the Don’t Be A Menace…original movie soundtrack, is still, to this day, considered one of the best of all time.



Of course, as the honorary tenth member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Cap appeared on the group’s sophomore double-album Wu-Tang Forever, which was released in 1997. The five tracks he was featured on were considered by many to be some of the best work on the multi-platinum selling album.



In 1998, it was time for “Donna Jay Bird” to shine on his own. He released The Pillage on Sony/Razor Sharp Records in March of that year and the album quickly went gold. With appearances from many of the Clan members and production from the likes of The RZA and True Master, The Pillage was both a commercial and a critical success.



When the Wu-Tang Clan reunited for a third album, Cappachino The Great was once again a part of it, but this time as an official member. RZA promoted the flashy dart thrower to Clansman status and he didn’t disappoint providing once again some of the album’s highlights.



Cappadonna followed up in 2001 with his second album The Yin and The Yang. Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Killah Priest and even Jermaine Dupri were some of the guest artists on this sophomore effort. “Papi Wardrobe King” quickly struck back in 2003 with an independent release titled The Struggle. While still spitting colorful slang, Cap showed a more personal side on this third offering.



The legendary MC remained active in the following years releasing mix-CDs, doing tours and joining Ghostface Killah’s Theodore Unit. But his official comeback came at the end of 2007 on the Wu-Tang Clan’s fifth studio album 8 Diagrams. Cappa blessed the opening cut with an extraordinary verse and showed up on two other songs.



Cappadonna inked a deal with new indie label Chambermusik Records/Koch in 2008. Old and new fans have been asking for new Cappadonna ever since and on January 27, 2009, their wait will be over with the release of Slang Prostitution. Cappadonna is finally back!
