CAPITAN MELAO



A singer songwriter side project by Javier Weyler, drummer for Stereophonics.



Javier was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), grew up in Caracas (Venezuela) and lives in London (UK). All this cultural exposure and experiences are reflected into this work.



The first ideas came together in his bedroom and was completed in spare times at hotel rooms, recording studios and the bunk of a tour bus whistle on the road with Stereophonics.



Capitan Melao is a melting pot of Javier’s life. Always in touch with his Latin American upbringing, an album of 10 tracks has been completed and will be available soon.



The lyrics have a dreamy and poetic content. The music is filmic. Latin rhythms like Bossanova and Bolero, coexist with more western elements like Rock and Electronic.



Capitan Melao has the seduction of Bossa nova, the pain of a Bolero, the anger of Rock and the words of a dishearten poet always looking for love, who had it and lost it.

Es el proyecto paralelo de Javier Weyler, baterista de Stereophonics.

Javier nació en Buenos Aires (Argentina), creció en Caracas (Venezuela) y vive en Londres (Reino Unido).



Todas estas experiencias y exposición cultural están reflejadas en este trabajo.



Las primeras ideas surgieron en su cuarto y fue completado en tiempos libres en hoteles, estudios de grabación y en la litera del bus durante la reciente gira mundial de Stereophonics.



Capitan Melao es reflejo de la mezcla en la vida de Javier y el contacto con su crecimiento en Latinoamérica. Un álbum de diez canciones tomó forma y estará disponible muy pronto



Las letras tienen un contenido poético y soñador. La música es cinematográfica. Ritmos latinos como Bossanova o el Bolero, coexisten con elementos más occidentals como el Rock y la Electrónica



Capitan Melao tiene la seducción del Bossa nova, el dolor del Bolero, la actitud del Rock y las palabras de un poeta divagando, en constante búsqueda de amor, que lo tuvo y lo perdió.
