Born D'Andre Johnson (the twin of D'Andrea Johnson) on September 6th 1988 in Madison, Wisnconsin. Him and his parents moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when he was only 2 months old. He always had a love for music. One of his earliest memories is of him beating on pots and pains on the kitchen floor. His parents always knew that he had talent, anything that they gave him, he would turn it into a musical instrument. Speaking of instruments, Cannonz has mastered three. Drums, Piano, and Guitar. When he was younger, his favorite instrument was the drums.
Every christmas, his parents would get him newer and bigger drums. At first all through the house, the only thing you would hear from his room is loud, irrotating noise, but later on, that loud noise would start to turn into music. Every sunday morning at church, Cannonz would sit all the way in the front just to pay attention to the drummer. After Cannonz got a little bit older, him and his cousin was just fooling around one day, and recorded a song entitled "Bad Girls" the song isn't too good to this day, but at that time it was perfect coming from three pre-teens whos just beginning to rap. They liked the song so much that they played it for their whole family.
Cannonz and his cousins haven't forgotten about that song, and decided to push it further than that and become rappers. His cousins are now known as Dee (18) and Scheme (19). Three years later, they dropped a mixtape "Main Event Presents." with Cannonz behind the boards producing all of the beats.to be honestit wasn't too good, but they needed to know where they stood at as rappers and what they needed to do to improveTwo years later they dropped another more official mixtape "Family Business vol.1" with Cannonz once again producing the whole project. The mixtape got much better reviews, and right then and there, Cannonz, Scheme, and Dee knew that they was gonna be in the game for a long time. One year later Cannonz dropped his first solo album. With guest appearences by Scheme, Black, and Jerz. It was on it's way to being a classic.
Fastforward one year later bumping into Johnny G. trough his cousin, little did they know that they was going to be a group "Real City". Johnny found out that Cannonz produced music, and was interested in his beats.later on they began to work on an album together entitled "Real City". Dre Cannonz began to get recognition from many local underground rappers, and r&b singers for his music production skills. He was always rapping but he is more passionate about producing. Throughout the year of 2007 he assembled a group of young talented individuals who call themselves "Main Event"
There are six people in the group. 2 R&B singers, and 4 rappers. Our first project and accomplishment was CJ’s album, “Breath of Fresh Air”. We recorded every song at my house, and it was his first time ever recording at a studio before. We started on his album in June 2007, when he recorded his first song “Lets Get Out of Here”. We completed the whole album in late December 2007. The album includes a duet with a group mate by the name of Aquila Taylor. The song is called “When I Get Home”. We all joke around and call it the song of the year because it was such a good song, that it striked a lot of attention, from DJ’s who wanted to play the song at local parties, to radio stations who was interested in radio air-play, and also major recording labels who was interested in signing us. Next is Aquila Taylor's album. Even though most of her tracks are already recorded, there is no release date yet. Dre would like to thank everybody who has showed any interest in his music and talents and wants everyone to keep supporting him on his way to the top.
