My father was in the military and I lived in Germany for a few years while i was 1-3 yrs old moved back to VA then moved to NJ at the age of 12 and NYC at the age of 14 and back to VA at 16 now residing in Florida
I grew up in sports playing soccer,running track,playing football basketball. I would sit in my room for hours drawing and dancing haha I use to watch this movie called "Breakin" and "Disorderlies" late nights I would be up watching Video Soul and watching Yo Mtv raps.When I saw my cousin Giggz performing in his middle school talent show in the late 80s I was like yo i gotta rhyme I loved the energy and my favorite cousin was doing it so i was like I want to be like him. Then my family started moving around alot and I fell back from sports because i wasnt sure how long i would be at that school. I constantly made new friends and adapted. Being the new kid several times in several totally different locations can take a toll on you. You got guys not liking you because your new haha and all the girls want to talk to you and you dont know who is talking to who so you get into scuffles or whatever but I started writing about it and me and my sister would record on this old radio with record and pause just rhyming. A lot of people dont know what cassettes are now a days it was no copy and pasting lyrics on a computer or emailing a new song to your friend. I stuffed wack cassettes with paper in the corners and dubbed over them passing them out to anybody with a walkman. I was rocking to Tribe Called Quest, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Black Moon, Wu Tang, Nas, BIG,Mobb Deep, Mic Geronimo,Jay Z, Big L, DITC,Roots,Outkast,UGK, Big Mike, Snoop, Dre, Onyx, Redman, 2Pac. I was in NYC late nights on thursdays from 1-5am recording Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito listening to underground artist. I was into lyrics and melodic street beats and thats what I miss now a days the hunger and passion and originalitynow a days everyone sounds the same its no fun.
A self made artist in complete creative control of my career. I book my own shows I pay for graphics,websites,rent cars and drive out of state to do shows. I call in work and give them excuses so i can hit the road. I put in a million percent when it comes to my craft. I started a independent label in the early 2000's Black Money Entertainment we hit the streets heavy in VA going to every open mic, every concert,club,city selling cds in malls,clubs wherever we could. This was before the internet where you actually had to sell your music to actual people and make them feel your movement. We did fashion shows,photoshoots,calenders,car washes all of that. Stayed up late nights burning hundreds of cds putting labels on them.
