Camera was formed in 2002 in Pittsburgh, PA. The band embodies a sound characterized as invasion-influenced pop. As original as it is classic, the band's bounce and smooth harmonies freshen up a timeless pop structure; from Motown to Carnaby St - Stax to the 100 Club. Perhaps the band has been best described by Time Out New York when it was said, ".don't be surprised if the band's hyperfun tunes make you bounce so hard you spill your beer." Good times. . .



Camera's recognition has earned them opening spots for The Von Bondies, Hot Hot Heat, The Secret Machines, The High Dials, Modey Lemon, The Fever, Asobe Seksu, Rainer Maria, Longwave and Denali. The band has also played at events such as Blowup in Toronto, Where The Action Is! in Pittsburgh & NYC, CMJ, Tiswas , Death Disco, and 2005 NXNE in Torontowhere Being There Magazine selected Camera as the pick of the night and placed them in the "Best Of NXNE" category.



After 5 years, 120 shows and several EP's, 2006 finds Camera popping up throughout the northeast USA in support of their debut full length. "This Is Camera" was produced by the king of the modern Detroit sound. Jim Diamond. This release is currently available digitally through iTunes- UK iTunes and countless other digital sites- The real thing (that you can hold ! !) is available through Not Lame Recordings and CDBaby in the USA and through world reknown mod-garage-ska label Detour Records in the UK.
