Born "Mikel Anthony Crawford" in Long Island New York, June 7th 1982. Mikel Anthony was transplanted to the West Coast at a very young age. Soon to discover West Coast Hip Hop.



“I grew up listening to Gangster Rap. At age 11 my first cassette tape was "The Chronic" and my second of course there after was "Doggystyle". I now no longer agree with their values and lifestyle however I acknowledge them as childhood influences”.



All through school Mikel always loved to write short stories whether fiction or non-fiction. It wasn't untill age 16, Mikel was in the house watching television with a friend, heard a noise coming from the garage and went to investigate. Mikel found his older brother and some of his friends recording rap lyrics. Immediately he was hooked. Mikel went inside and began to write. He felt so much more freedom to be able to express his words aloud.



Based on his past and Testimony, Mikel is able to pull from many different experiences to reach the youth. His mother was over come by a drug addiction which led to being on the streets and living in many various shelters. "While living on Clementine St. in Oceanside, Ca. a drug dealer laced a soda pop of mine to get back at my mother and I had to be rushed to the hospital to have my stomach pumped." Over time, Child protective services was called and Mikel was launched into the Foster Care System. "It felt like I was being tossed around, as if no one wanted to keep me." At age 10 his mother was able to get him back just to have a relapse and loose him again. " In the end, I could count up to 6 foster homes and 3 group homes." Eventually Mikels mother got him back and he stayed with her untill his adult years.



Years later, Mikel finds himself working on his second album, his first record as a Christian artist "The Schematic". Saved through Jesus Christ and held accountable with fellowship of good friends. Mikel anthony feels led to leave his past behind, take up a higher calling, be a vessel for the Lord God, and spread the Gospel.
