Calibistrixe s'est formé en octobre 2003, fruit d'une répétition improvisée entre des musiciens issus de plusieurs groupes quimpérois.
Si les premiers morceaux sont résolument rock, le groupe pose très vite les bases d'une musique hybride se situant la croisée des diverses influences de ses membres (Sonic Youth, M83, Radiohead, Interpol, The Notwist, PJ Harvey, Queens Of The Stone Age, Mars Volta, Abstrackt Keal Agram, Archive.).
Rapidement, Calibistrixe rentre en studio pour enregistrer ses premiers EP Plug033 et Seven Miles et apparait sur les scènes de plusieurs cafés-concerts et festivals.
Depuis, le groupe a enchaîné les dates, dont les premières parties de The Infadels, Champion, Sheer.K, où il a chaque fois démontré ses qualités scéniques.
Délaissant les structures classiques du rock, Calibistrixe continue de construire son univers, mêlant le rock et l'electro.
Après l’EP prometteur ‘There Won't Be Deadflowers In Paradize Anymore’, Calibistrixe prépare son successeur

Calibistrixe has been formed in 2003, result of an improvised rehearsal between the four musicians.
Leaving the classic structures of rock, the band has built his own universe by creating, with their influences (Sonic Youth, M83, Interpol, The Notwist, PJ Harvey, Abstrackt Keal Agram), an hybrid music mixing electro and post-rock.
During these three years, Calibistrixe shared his time between the studio where they recorded their first EPs Plug033 and Seven Miles, and the stages of festivals and bars with huge energy shows.
The first album of Calibistrixe, "There won’t be deadflowers in paradize anymore", out since november 2006, is a new step ahead in their sonic experimentation between electro and rock. The band is curently recording the second album.
