Recorded at Asheville's Echo Mountain Studios with engineer Jon Ashley (Avett Brothers, Band of Horses) at the helm, Snake River Canyon represents the missing link between alt.country and roots pop, a sound that brings to mind lost loves, decomposing fall leaves and creaky winter beds driven by bassist Kyle Caudle, drummer Chad Newsom and guitarists Philip Pledger and Stephn Pollard. Ryan Monroe guests on keys.

2010 has been a busy year for Caleb Caudle & the Bayonets with the band touring constantly throughout the East Coast while playing with the likes of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Simon Joyner, Josh Roberts & the Hinges, The Lonely H and Paleface. The group closed out a successful 2009 playing the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, the annual Habitat Humanity benefit concert hosted by the Allman Brothers/Gov't Mule guitarist in Asheville.

Snake River Canyon is Caleb Caudle’s third record since 2007. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter cut Red Bank Road, a beautifully bare, eleven-song effort recorded mostly by himself over two whiskey-fueled nights at an abandoned dairy farm outside Johnson City, TN when he was 19 years old. Following the success of Red Bank Road, Caleb formed the Bayonets and recorded Stay On, his sophomore release, at Mr. Lemon’s Studio in East Nashville in 2008.

Snake River Canyon is available through the band’s MySpace site and at all major digital music distributors.

"Good god, where did this kid come from? Okay, so nominally, Caleb Caudle hails from Winston-Salem, NC, and he keeps a toe or two in Tennessee, where he cut both his 2007 debut Red Bank Road and Stay On (the latter, with Neilsen Hubbard at the board). But the 22-year old sounds like he stepped straight outta Lone Star territory, with jaw-droppingly fine songs steeped in classic Earle, Ely, Clark, McMurtry and Van Zandt."- Fred Mills, BLURT

".when Caudle sings his sweet ode to his late grandmother, you'll be excused if your eyes well up. Catch him before he becomes NC's next Americana dream." -Mark Kemp, Shuffle Magazine

"There’s natural soul in his writing, nothing seems to be forced. It’s that combo of roots pop that makes Caudle a worthy addition to North Carolina singer/songwriters." - Samir Shukla, Creative Loafing Charlotte, NC

"the 11-song album is the work of a singer and songwriter with a fully formed and realized vision - there is not a bad song, not a misstep, anywhere to be found."

- Ed Bumgardner, Relish Magazine/ Winston-Salem Journal staff writer

"The sweet spot between alt.country and roots pop."

-Spencer Griffith, Independent Weekly

"Consider Red Bank Road Caudle's Nebraska and his band the equivalent of The Wild, the Innocent, and the E street shuffle. Caudle immediately established himself as a first-rate songwriter with this album. Everything about it brings to mind lost loves, decomposing fall leaves and creaky winter beds."

-Jordan Greene, Yes! Weekly

"Whereas Caudle’s debut, Red Bank Road, was a mostly acoustic affair of heartfelt classic Americana, Stay On uses more electric guitars and piano to create an almost R&B sound. The Bayonets have created a strong first record that should get them plenty of notice, but something tells me this young band hasn’t reached its peak yet."

- Eli Petersen, Twangville
