Hello, I’m CADAVER. I’m an MC/Producer, and part owner of the Minneapolis based Hip Hop label, BRAINSTEM RECORDS. I like to think that I make heady & progressive Hip Hop. I’ve been writing since I was a kid, and performing since 2002. My influences are wide and varied. I grew up on YO MTV Raps and comic books while keeping my head buried in a sketch pad. I try hard to be genuine, humble, and snob free. This rap shit has its fair share of egomaniacs, pretentious assholes, and scenesters that don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. I don’t believe that’s how good music works or is made. To me, Hip Hop is far from dead, but it’s damn sure in need of a renaissance. I make music that means something to me and often make it a point to come from the heart. I truly hope that on some level, what I do speaks to people. Conviction is something I don’t hear from many humans these days, let alone artists…it’s slowly becoming lost to masses. Let’s bring it back. This amazing tapestry of art and culture that we call music depends on it. Be well to others and yourself, the rest will always take care of itself. Peace.
