Now in our 9th year, Budget Rock Showcase has grown to be the West Coast's longest running festival for trashy, out of tune (formerly known as "garage") Rock'N'Roll and other wacked out music otherwise ignored by the Indie Rock Establishment. Voted "Best Bay Area Music Festival" by the SF Weekly in 2008, Budget Rock 8 promises to be another blowout of epic proportions. What goes around does indeed come around: 2009 marks the return of Budget Rock to San Francisco!!! This year's festival will be headquatered at BOTTOM OF THE HILL and (our original home) THEE PARKSIDE, with a kick-off party at THE EAGLE TAVERN!!!
Over the last 8 years we've hosted unforgettable performances by the THE MUMMIES, CHEAP TIME, GRIS GRIS, THEE OH SEES, WOUNDED LION, LYRES, ORIGINAL SINS, REAL KIDS, TRASHWOMEN, CRIME, HUMAN EYE, ROY HEAD, COMETS ON FIRE, GENTLEMEN JESSE, PHANTOM SURFERS, HYPSTRZ, FLESHTONES, HEAD, WOGGLES, MORLOCKS, NOBUNNY, OKMONIKS, ROY LONEY, THE LEGENDARY STARDUST COWBOY, HAUNTED GEORGE, HUNX AND HIS PUNX, TYVEK, HEX DISPENSERS, THEE MAKEOUT PARTY, THE LAMPS, MAYYORS, SOUTH BAY SURFERS, MARKED MEN, FLAKES, CAPTAIN 9's AND HIS KNICKERBOCKER TRIO, HAROLD RAY LIVE IN CONCERT, ROCK N ROLL ADVENTURE KIDS, KNIGHTS OF THE NEW CRUSADE, PERSONAL AND THE PIZZAS and many many more. See the photos for past posters. This year continues to evolve the concept into the netherworlds of related "music" from the 1960s to the distant future.
