Bryce Jacobs

Bryce Jacobs is a unique and eclectic composer who writes and performs his own brand of hybrid soundtrack music.
After completing a Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Bryce returned 18 months later to complete a Masters in Composition. It was during this time of study that Bryce realized that his desire and infatuation with film music was to now be his musical focus from this point on.
Bryce's dedication to film music led to the development of a guitar of his own design – a guitar that was based on the range and capabilities of a piano. Through facilitating the transcription of piano music faithfully onto the guitar, this instrument became a new and exciting platform to write and perform any style of music. The writing and arranging of new material for this instrument encouraged more of the hybrid film orientated music Bryce is continually developing.
Whilst working as a session and touring musician for Australian artists including Josh Pyke and Genevieve Maynard, and international artist including Sophie B. Hawkins, Bryce became more and more embedded in film scoring. He was involved with the orchestration, copying and performing in such films as "Happy Feet", "Jumper", "Gabriel", "Australia" and "P.S. I Love You". Bryce soon became inspired to turn his sights to moving to Los Angeles and pursuing his career as a film composer internationally.
With his move to L.A. Bryce quickly attained a position at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions where he has been a part of the writing and production of many hit films, video games and television shows, working closely with Grammy and twice Emmy Nominated composer Ramin Djawadi. Such projects have included Warner Brothers' "Clash of the Titans", MGM/UA's "Red Dawn", EA's "Medal of Honor" and "Need for Speed - Shift 2", ABC's "FlashForward" and 20th Century Fox's "Prison Break" and "Breakout Kings". In addition to this, Bryce has also performed on the scores of such films as "Rango" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides".
