In many ways the ideal rapper,19 year old Bruza the General endured substantial obstacles throughout his young yet remarkably dramatic life before exploding on the scene as a 16 year old rap phenomenon. Bruza was raised in the rough streets of Chicago's South Shore area where gangs, drug dealers, and high members of organized crime were the father figures and role models of the hood. At age 15, Bruza met Fred "Warbucks" Whitmore, CEO of Gov Music Group., thru a neighborhood friend. Warbucks quickly recognized Bruza’s star potential and began to steer him away from street life and developed him artistically. Gaining the respect of both newcomers and vets, Bruza had become one of Chicago's premier underground rappers at age 17. After attending a Kanye West concert in Tennessee, Bruza got a chance to not only meet the Chicago hip hop legend, but a chance to spit in a cipher with Kanye, GLC and Really Doe. After holding his own and impressing the G.O.O.D. Music artists, Bruza knew he was ready for the world to hear his relentless flow, witty metaphors, and original punch lines.



His debut mix tape BRUZA THE GENEARL - VOL 1 MIDWEST GANGSTA EXTRA hosted by Shadyville’s Dj SEAN MAC was a street classic and sold over 35,000 units in Chicago alone. Volume 1 featured BUMP J and beats by Chicago’s legendary producers TONY BAINES(Boardroom/GOV) and XTREME(Burning Hot.) .Bruza had created more than just a buzz, he had become the talk of the town. He began to receive offers from several major and independent record labels. After learning more about the business, Bruza became the majority owner of GOV MUSIC GROUP, the top production company in the Midwest. He continued to polish his skills after attending several studio sessions with Kanye West and rubbing elbows with the industry’s top artists, producers, and business execs.



Now 19, BRUZA has the city on fire . His new single” GON DO YA THANG” is the no 1 independent played record in the Midwest. Bruza continues to prove he is not a one hit wonder and has the most anticipated street album of 2008. With another Sean Mac release dropping in winter/spring and a EP on the way, Bruza plans to put his city on the map as the NEW HOME OF HIP-HOP. Bruza is currently working with producers TONY BAINES, LP(Low Pro), and platinum hit maker XTREME to bring the true sound of real Hip-Hop back into the music. SHAWNNA, GLC, BUMP J, REALLYDOE, NAWLEDGE, PARKAY, BJ YHE CHICAGO KID, AND CRUCIAL CONFLICT are just a some of the artists that will be featured on Bruza’s new CD.



Although he escaped street hustling and gang life, Bruza earned his respect and street credibility by developing the gift of hard punch lines, storytelling, and a flow like no other. He is described by top music execs as “ refreshing” and the streets has crowned Bruza NO.1. His gritty narratives and cinematic rhymes about life through the eyes of a young black man appeal to NEW and OLD school listeners.
