Brotherly are soul-mates Anna Stubbs and Robin Mullarkey, creating soulful beats with finesse, deep cinematic textures with edgy intensity, stirring vocals with purposeful intent, and puréeing them from their north-london flat, to a palatable paste. In the forthcoming release, Brotherly choose to shirk their dancefloor sensibilities to instead create a cohesive long-play experience favouring surging guitars, and spiky string section lines. Fans of the the debut "One Sweet Life", already having proven their willingness to seek out progressive and challenging sounds, will of course find familiarity in the Anna's characteristic vocals and Robin's intricate and unique arrangements. Brotherly's brazen eclecticism is ever present and their inquisitive exploits are forever forging new ground.

Brotherly were nominated for Gilles Peterson's Session of the Year. The band spent an amazing day at the BBC Maida Vale studios where they recorded 5 live tracks with guests Eska Mtungwazi and Earl Zinger. The show was aired in February.
