Alicia Jo Rabins is a poet, composer, performer and teacher based in Brooklyn NY (and occasionally Portland OR). Alicia tours internationally with her band, Girls in Trouble, an art-pop song cycle about the women of Torah, as well as with other musical projects. Her work has appeared in American Poetry Review, Ploughshares, 6x6, Boston Review and Court Green; Alicia is currently completing her first book of poems and holds an MFA in poetry from Warren Wilson College. In 2009 she was selected as a musical ambassador for the US State Department/Jazz at Lincoln Center and has toured Central America and Kuwait playing old-time fiddle music with the Hoppin' John String Band. She also tutors bar and bat mitzvah students worldwide via skype and holds a MA in Jewish Women's Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
