"This young woman is a poet on fire," - Laurel Boland of Sensored Magazine.

Brooke Fox lit up the downtown singer/songwriter scene after relocating to

New York from Nashville in 2000. With a "strong yet vulnerable" set of songs

drawing mentions to The Sundays, Patty Griffin and Ricky Lee Jones, Fox's

effortless vocals and direct lyrics draw a decidedly optimistic reality of

relationships and human response.

Her second self-produced record, "Breathe The Same Air" released July 2005, is an overdue offering of new music that finds her a few years stronger and newly married, which is a theme that threads sweetly through the collection.

Fox, a Northern California native who holds a Degree in Songwriting from Boston's Berklee College of Music,

performs over 50 shows a year including at national disability conferences

where she mentors other Legally Blind and Albino attendees. Her songwriting

has earned several awards including the Just Plain Folks 2004 Best Vocal

Jazz Song of the Year for "Here and Gone" from her 1999 indie release

"NightLight".
