Briney blackness swam under the soul of each man who called shrunken planks home; a blot the sun, an early grave's curse cried out, "Avast! There's be Bastard's Brine! - four deadly scalawags whose mothers be she-devil whores and whose fathers be wretches from the deep, the same men, no dogs, who scorched lives with reckless abandon, who stole memories and returned nightmare, demons who draught deep the bosoms of fair maidens ripening them with sin. Not mere men, much worse. Much much worse.
