Samuel "Fullmetal" EBONGUE was born 27 years ago in Yaounde, Cameroon. Since a young age, Samuel had been used to travel. At the age of 2, he left Cameroon for Ethiopia where he stayed for 2 years then moved to France for 4 years, then to Italy for seven years and finally came back to France 13 years go. Visiting all these countries, Fullmetal now speaks 4 different languages, which we have to thanks for his very open minded personality.

Fullmetal discovered hip hop at the age of 13 with Run DMC, Public Enemy, and Rakim. He immediately fell in love with this young international movement. Just like the kids in America, he was buying every album that came out. Religiously, reading The Source Magazine every month, dreaming one day he would take an active role in the movement. He took his first step as an activist in 1995, when he started hosting a hip hop radio show from the Universite d'Orleans campus, which he attended; drafted as American hip hop specialist, he also started doing his first couple interviews with pioneer French artist like Mc Solaar, and Dj Cut Killer . Being in contact with all these artists inspired him to write his first rhymes and quickly, he started pursuing a career as a rapper. With his group Nada, he opened for famous French acts like Assassin, La Cliqua and NTM and rocked on a lot of mixtapes and a few compilations distributed nationally, but Samuel had another vision.

In 1999 , he went to Miami to visit a friend after he had seen in The Source an ad for a hip hop convention called How can I Be Down taking place in South Beach. That was his occasion to finally enter the closed world of American Hip Hop. During the three days the convention took place, Fullmetal's life had changed. There he met artists he had always dreamed about as a kid. Rakim, Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, Black Moon, also was able to witness the hip hop industry from within. Back in France he only had one idea in mind, that was to take a video camera and show French people the behind the scenes of the industry. The project was finally launched in 2002, when he rented a video camera, booked a room in a YMCA and flew to NYC to shoot a documentary about hip hop. Thanks to his long-time friend, Deejekyll, webmaster of the famous website hiphopgame.com he got in contact with Immortal Technique, a NY mc battle sensation. Technique then took Fullmetal to the famous weekly open mic, End Of The Weak. There he met the creme of the crop of the NYC's underground scene. He got in contact with a rep from Rocafella, that really, hooked him up. From there he was able to do interviews with Damon Dash, CamRon, Freeway, and Juelz Santana. Other artists features in the documentary are Masta Ace, Necro , DJ Mighty Mi, Jin, Non Phixion, C rayz walz. The documentary called Live from New York attempts to teach viewers, through following Immortal Technique's rise to the top, what an aspiring mc needs to do to achieve his or her goals in the music industry. It uncovers the reality of artists from the underground, middleground and the mainstream in the hip hop business of NY. The documentary entirely subtitled by Fullmetal ( even the lyrics of the songs ) has been broadcasted on Canal Plus, (a famous international television channel ) on a Eminem special night, right after the movie 8 Mile. The show totalized 6 million viewers and received very good critics by all the media. The DVD was released by Sony Music Video in February on the French territory and should be available in the USA before the end of 2005.

Fullmetal is now a journalist and translator for the French version of The Source magazine. Specializing in American hip hop culture. He has done interviews with Cypress Hill, MOP, The Diplomats, Fabolous, Fat Joe, TI, Trick Daddy, Young Gunz, Freeway , Cam'Ron , Wordsworth. In 2005, Sam started his own label called BREAKNECK , most recently with the release of Live From New York, the soundtrack, a compilation for his documentary. The CD features exclusive joints by The Diplomats, D Block, Masta Ace, Immortal technique, C Rayz walz, Purple City and many others. He's currently working on a new DVD series called THA LINK, a hip hop video magazine that will quickly become the direct link between the fans and the talented new and established artists that want to promote their music. The first volume features interviews and freestyles of Grafh, PMD of EPMD, Jaz O, Agallah producer DR Period and new talented artists.
