Branchdweller Summer Camp is the blanket name for the songwriting endeavors of me, Justin David Brown. I can't do it (well) alone, so I've relied on the help of my friends, who I honestly beleive to be the best musicians in the world.
From 1999-2003, I was part of the band Born With a Tail. I left to begin going to school, and ended up trying to write songs that were more than just wacky riff showoffs. I recorded a group of songs under the name Justin Has Rats. Shortly thereafter, I traveled the US and recorded a bunch of releases as the drummer in Hi Ho Six Shooter!
In 2005, I wrote and recorded the first Branchdweller Summer Camp album, Viva Encyclopedia. I tinkered around at a few shows, then formed a real band with David Beale and Troy Gatrell. This version of BSC recorded Summer Everywhere with help from Adam Baber. Right now, Troy and I are working on a third record called Wind Sprints, and a totally different band in which Troy runs the show, called Way, Shape, or Form.
Our recorded history thus far:
Viva Encyclopedia Summer 2005. .
Homemade songs, scores, and other musics made mostly by Justin, but with the help of many others (Jared Brown, Nic Frederick, Steve Moore, Steven MacLauchlan, and Marcie Simpson). A few songs therein:
Viva Encyclopedia
Fireflies
Honey
My Friend the Robot
Summer Everywhere Spring 2008
Recorded in late 2006 by Justin, David, and Troy with super-assistance provided by Adam Baber. This is a rock album about driving around on family vacations, roadtrips, tours, and looking for things in the "Weird U.S." books. The inspiration for this record was Jared Brown's stunning composition "Have You Ever Been to Niagara Falls??" It's OUT NOW! You can stream the whole thing at http://branchdweller.muxtape.com/.
